Now, I'll be honest with you (and hope the ladies and gentlemen who make these biscuits in Keswick aren't reading this!)

I resisted buying these biscuits in for years, simply (and this is going to make me sound like a shallow cheese snob!) because of the packaging which some people find very homely but I find look like it was designed and made on a wet Tuesday in February 1972! How wrong you can be - finally after about six years, I relented and bought one case (pushing the boat out!) just to see how they's do. Well, you can guess the rest. People just love them! They have rapidly come to be my best selling cheese biscuit, despite year of me pushing Millers Damsel Charcoal Biscuits at anyone who came within three feet of me. I think it might be the fact that, unlike some oatcakes, these are not thick and really chewy but slightly slimmer thus allowing the underlying cheese to shine without masking the flavours too much.

Or it might be that people just really like the packaging.

Whatever the reason, they just work...
