Join us in the shop every Friday evening over the summer for our popular wine and tapas night, The Friday Social.

We started these evenings in Autumn 2011 and it has proved to be such a success that it is now a regular part of our week. We usually close at 5pm throughout the week but on a Friday we shut for half an hour at 4.30pm to enable us to redress the shop - flickering candles and fairy lights help create a lovely atmosphere in our old shop, Joe, our pianist, comes in to tinkle the ivories, free nibbles adorn the tables (such as salted, roasted broad beans, olives, peppers stuffed with cheese, etc) and we serve wine by the glass and delicious tapas.

We usually have on offer a glass of Prosecco, Cava or something similar for £4.00 a glass and a choice of three white wines and three reds from £2.50/175ml. 

No booking is needed, just come on down to the shop and see what we have to offer - you will not be disappointed! (but you might end up a bit tipsy!)

We moved out of our home of five years above the cheese shop following the birth of our son William in 2007 in order to create our very own rather lovely holiday apartment, Churchmouse House. We couldn't be more pleased with the result (and, it seems, neither can you!) People genuinely seem to have fallen in love with the place, a fact bourne out by the number of repeat bookings we are now getting each year.

Our apartment has two bedrooms, one double and one containing a double and single bed, so it easily sleeps five. There is also a double sofa bed in the lounge.

How easy would it be for us to trot out a well-worn phrase beginning "A warm welcome awaits you at Churchmouse House!", every apartment would say the same. But from the moment you arrive for your short break, prepare to be spoiled! A delectable cheese board awaits you on arrival alongside a complimentary bottle of wine (please specify red, white or rose when booking) Classical music is playing softly on the stereo, a warming fire is dancing in the stove, candles and tealights are twinkling in the Winter gloaming and, if you let us know your preferences in advance, we will pre-book you a table at one of Kirkby Lonsdale's many fine eateries. And if you're arriving on a Friday afternoon or evening, you will be treated to a free drink and tapas (one per guest) at our famous Friday Social - what better way to start your weekend!
